One delightful autumn highlight is just a short walk from the hotel: the Tree Horoscope Trail. This themed trail invites you to fully immerse yourself in the autumn colours on our doorstep. Over a distance of around two kilometres, the trail takes you through a variety of native tree species. Along the way, 21 informative stations offer interesting insights into the medicinal properties of different trees – adding a touch of education to your walk.

Another must-see, particularly in autumn, is the Larch Meadow Trail in Fendels. Just a ten-minute drive from the hotel, this enchanting path winds through a sparse larch forest, where the trees are dressed in a stunning yellow-orange hue before shedding their needles. The trail stretches for about five kilometres through a tranquil landscape, with an elevation gain of around 230 metres and a maximum altitude of 1,623 metres above sea level. This moderately challenging hike rewards you with vibrant, picturesque views that are well worth the effort.

About a 20-minute drive from the Hotel Post in Prutz, the Kaunergrat Nature Park House has seamlessly blended nature and architecture since 2007. The “3000 m VERTIKAL” multimedia exhibition provides fascinating insights into the region’s natural wonders.

The Sauerbrunn spring: a short walk to promote health
The historic Sauerbrunn spring is just a few minutes’ walk from the Hotel Post in Prutz. Acclaimed for its healing properties since 1212, this mineral-rich spring, containing iron, calcium, magnesium, and sulphur, was first tapped around 1750. It attracts many visitors for its reputed benefits in alleviating kidney and liver complaints, gastrointestinal problems, and high blood pressure. A visit to the spring is a refreshing choice for a relaxing evening stroll.
