Walk from Prutz to the Ried bathing lake
Fancy a cool down? This route leads from our hotel to a beautiful bathing lake.
Not sure where to go this summer in Austria? Hiking holidays in Prutz provide a refreshing experience, especially when your destination is a beautiful bathing lake. Our tip: a hike to the Ried bathing lake, starting from our hotel’s doorstep. A highlight at the beginning of the hike is the historic bridge over the Inn, which has wooden planks as a roadway. Cross it and continue along the other side of the Inn towards Ried. Along the way, be sure to visit the noteworthy landmarks of St. Leonard’s parish church, Lindenplatz in Ried, and Sigmundsried Castle. From Ried, you’ll hike back towards Prutz, following the opposite bank. After approximately 5.5 kilometres, you’ll arrive at the picturesque Ried bathing lake. Take a refreshing dip in the cool water and enjoy the several available water attractions. On the shore, you’ll find a sunbathing lawn, a large playground, a pedal boat rental, and a lake restaurant with a sun terrace. Additionally, the water quality is excellent. The return journey to the Hotel Post is a leisurely stroll, completing a pleasant day out.
